One of the most impressive hidden gems in Baja, San Felipe is a seaside town framed by sparkling waters. The locals are friendly, the scenery is jaw-dropping, and the food is crazy delicious. Because of its convenient location along the coast, some of the best seafood in all of Baja can be found here. Once you’ve visited San Felipe, you’re going to want to keep coming back.

 

Where to Stay: La Palapa RV Camp Site

If you have an RV or a camper of any sort, then this is exactly where you want to drive it to next! A beach front RV camp site on the beautiful Sea Of Cortez, if you want to just relax and swim in warm beautiful ocean water, then this hidden gem is exactly what you need to get away! Cost any-were from $15-$35 dollars a night with your own palapa and an ocean front view. Just an absolute outdoorsy RV explorers dream!

 Where to Eat: La Vaquita is a local favorite that specializes in steak and seafood. The presentation is stunning, the food is fresh and locally-sourced, and the prices are affordable.

 

For a relaxed atmosphere and delicious food, check out La Cabana. Make sure to try the chilaquiles, one of the most popular menu items. Whether you come for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you’re guaranteed to leave satisfied.

 

6. Loreto

Known for its crystal blue waters and dazzling landscapes, Loreto is another one of Baja’s best hidden gems. Because it isn’t too well-known among tourists, it tends to be one of the less crowded destinations. This means you get to relax in a calm and tranquil environment while following the guidelines for social distancing. The natural beauty and laidback energy of Loreto makes for a truly rejuvenating vacation.

 For a phenomenal wine adventure, plan a trip to Valle de Guadalupe. The nights get chilly this time of year, but the weather during the day is fantastic. Because it’s off season, there are better deals at the hotels and far less crowds in the area. Valle de Guadalupe is a popular tourist destination for the amazing wine and stunning views. For an amazing winery experience, add the Rondo del Valle and La Lomita wineries to your list of things to do.


 

Where to Stay: Check out the Ojo Azul Resort for a refined luxury resort experience. They have a DJ Friday-Sunday where you are seated outside looking out into the beautiful vineyards of Relieve Viñicola. Rw recommended the Paloma Negra, the Pulpo Pasta, the Dragonfruit Cocktail, and the aguachile! You truly cannot go wrong with anything on their menu!

 

For a fine dining experience, make sure you stop at Animalon. Seated under a 200 year old oak tree, guests can enjoy a 4, 6, or 8 course tasting menu with optional wine pairings. Chef Oscar Torres creates a menu filled with globally-influenced cuisine that is out of this world. Built and created by the magnificent Javier Plancecia. Aniamlón is nestled between Finca Altozano (another amazing restaurant concept by Javier) and beautiful vineyards. This is a dining experience not to be missed in Valle!. Between the delectable food and upscale atmosphere, you’ll be sad when it’s time to leave. Pro tip: get there earlier before your reservation and enjoy cocktails by the fire at the outdoor bar right outside the dinning area under the tree!
